Dear Sheila & Lamont,
I wanted to wish you both a New Year filled with many blessings! To see how far the Colby Fund has come is truly amazing and what is even better is all those children and parents who are benefiting from it! What a blessing you both have been to everyone in honor of your son. You have touched lives in so many positive ways and continue to as well. I am blessed to know you and watch something so powerful come to life for so many. There is only bigger and better days ahead for the Nicholas Colby Fund. The world is a better place because of you. Much love always! Regina

Thank you so much for the opportunity to watch such a fabulous Warrior's game. (1/14/09) It was such an exciting game that went to 3 overtimes and the seats were great. Although the warriors lost, I had a great time with my dad and bestfriends. God Bless your family and foundation.

XOXOXOXOXOX
A Birthday In Heaven
© 2005 Written by Kris Smith
I heard you crying yesterday
And felt your heart-sent love
So Iím sending you this message
Now, from Heaven up above.
Youíre wondering if I'll celebrate
My birthday (way up here)
I know youíre missing me today
I feel your essence near.
God planned a special day for me
He told me with a wink
Heíd ordered me a special cake
(Itís Angel food, I think)
I'm getting lots of hugs from God
Heís really good at that
And every time that I walk by
He gives my head a pat
Balloons will fill the streets for me
They float up through the clouds
And we have lots of clowns up here
That make us laugh out loud
There is a birthday carousel
Jeweled horses ride the wind
With music playing oh so sweet,
The magic never ends
I've made so many friends, you see
We laugh and play and sing
We ride our bikes and play jump rope
And sleep in Angel's wings
We'll have our cake and ice cream
And open gifts, surprise!
But we donít blow out our candles here
Instead, they light the skies.

Thank you Gilbert family for the tickets. I saw the Warriors game last night. The suite is really awesome and we saw a Rolls Royce in the parking lot which was totally sick. Plus it was the first time I've ever been to a live basketball game. It was a really fun thing to do right before I had to go back in tomorrow for more chemo.
Thank you again.

My girls wanted to see High School Musical on Ice, but I was too busy to arrange for it. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to watch the show with such an ease - the suite was relaxing, parking was no sweat, and the girls loved the show, especially seeing Corbin Bleu in person.
Thanks for adding some fun to our lives.

Thank you so much for your generosity. Tonight you have allowed us to see the play "Elmo's Green Thumb." Our daughter currently has Leukemia. With a year left of treatment at Lucille Packard Children's Hospital, we got sick and missed our Make A Wish trip to see Elmo. Thanks for the opportunity for us finally see him. Though we are a ways from our finish line, it's comforting to know that our hearts can weather the storm no matter what the outcome. It's testimonies like yours that have led us to daily be able to say (even in the hardest times) "God is good." Thanks again and Grace and peace be yours. - The Orlando's

Hello Colby family,
We received tickets from your foundation to the Ringling Bros. circus and just wanted to thank you and let you know that my son had a wonderful time. My 2 yr. old son, Ty, has been battling neuroblastoma for over a year now. He has endured 7 rounds of high dose chemo, surgery to remove primay tumor, a stem cell transplant, 27 rounds of radiation and is currently receiving an antibody treatment at Sloan Kettering cancer center in NYC. He is active and very happy-- we pray he continues to adjust and fight this battle daily!
Even though I never had the pleasure of meeting your son, I can tell by your past journal entries that he was a very special and beautiful boy!
Thank you again for your generosity with the tickets, the luxury suite was awesome and we all had a great time :)

Hello Colby Friends,
I have so much to ask/say I dont even know where to start.let me tell you a bit about my family.
I have 2 daughters,Devine & Desire. My oldest,Devine(Nunu) was diagnosed with A.L.L. October 17,2008.I took her to the emergency room & after a stream of tests we found out she had ALL & MRSA.She stayed in the hospital 30 days.
This was really difficult for us.Id never been away from my child so of course i stayed with her til she came home but my youngest child was not allowed to be there because of the MRSA
My world was falling apart while bills piled up @ home,Christmas fast approaching, & the fear of the outcome with Nunu.
We came home Nov.17,2008,a month before Christmas,& though we were excited to be home I was so overwelmed with stress i couldnt appreciate it.I blew all the money we had, while in the hospital,on food, hygien,& transporting my youngest to the hospital so i could see her.I had no money for bills,Christmas, food,& worst of all my car broke down with Nunus' 1st treatment being 3 days away.
Usually when $ becomes an issue Id just get another job...obviously that wasnt an option.NOW WHAT....
Got a letter from the Colby Foundation asking to hear Nunus, story so FINALLY here it is.
December came & little did I know,so did Christmas!!My kids got all sorts of presents,in so many forms from so many people!
Its amazing that you guys give SOOOO MUCH to someone you dont even know.
First,I'd like to thank you for your support during last Christmas.I dont know where we would've been without you...there wouldnt have been one.
I also want to thank you the most for putting Nicholas' story in my heart. It helped me to understand that sharing Nunu & my experiences with others can help them over come so much.Theres still alot of information & help needed.
With that being said,my new years resolution for 2009 is to share all I can share, give all i can give.I cant donate 2 much right now because im on a fixed income & i AM the needy right now :-)i have a few months of school left BUT AS SOON AS I FINISH i pledge to devote as much of my free time & money to foundations like yours that assisted me & my with our struggles.
YOU ALL ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!
WITH LOVE,
Cherokee Hunter & Family

Lamont and Sheila, thank you so much for allowing my son Raymond to host his friends at the 11/20 Warriors game! It was his first-ever NBA basketball game and the most special one, too because your efforts made it all possible for the kids. They loved it, mainly because they got to move about and make noise without bothering anyone! Raymond was especially proud to have his 3-year-old brother, Bryce, there to boss around! This experience had perfect timing, not only because the Warriors had one of their best games ever over the Blazers, but also just one day earlier, Raymond's neurosurgeon gave us a tumor-free report from his latest MRI! So, please know that we're thankful to you and appreciative of all the opportunities you provide to so many children in Nicolas' loving memory. God bless you and thanks again. Happy Thanksgiving!
